Something I have fallen short of is keeping a serious schedule for my business. I literally wake up on Monday mornings and just try to get my thoughts together after the weekend, because motherhood and family time are my number one priorities during that time.

Every post I do in my free Facebook group is completely organic. Meaning, I don’t have my posts scheduled. Some might think that’s ridiculous, considering how busy I am. But honestly, it’s kinda smart and here are a few reasons why:

  1. I post based on trending topics. Most of the content I come up with is based on a conversation thread I participate in with other groups or communities on Facebook, Instagram, or blogs.
  2. Transparency invokes participation and relevance. Sharing your obstacles and pitfalls makes you human and let’s face it, people have a burning desire to share their empathy and suggestions to help you in the future.
  3. It’s a journaling opportunity. My wheels turn about a mile a minute. For those of you who are the same, use your Facebook groups and communities as an opportunity to share your thoughts and inspirations. Some of my best work comes from straight outta the shower. True story, though you may laugh! I have my best epiphanies while I’m showering or driving. So I make sure I’ve got my phone available with my notepad app open and voice-text my ideas for future content posts or blogs. You’ll connect that much more with your audience when you just kind of emotionally “brain-dump”.


Now…I’m not saying that you shouldn’t schedule your posts, but when you go with the flow, there are no rules that say you can’t essentially “regurgitate” those posts onto multiple platforms or other pieces of content.

Weekend takeaways make for incredible Monday posts. There are several of my friends in the digital marketing space who attended Funnel Hacking Live over the weekend in Orlando, Florida. There was a very big piece of me that was envious, because this past year I kept telling myself, “I promise I’m going to make it to Funnel Hacking Live this year”. It’s a huge networking and speaking event hosted by Russell Brunson, the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets and creator of ClickFunnels. I’m a big fan of the guy, for sure.

There were a few things that prohibited me from going but truth be told, I work hard during the week between my full-time corporate job and my business in order to enjoy my weekend with my family. When the weekends hit, my children crave quality time with their mommy and family and that’s exactly what I want to give them.

What DID happen over the weekend was something that took me a little over an hour to put together. A project I was putting off, simply because of my own self-doubt. How many of you can relate to this?

Over the past two years, I have committed myself to educating entrepreneurs with various different ways to monetize online. I have interviewed over 100 industry experts and created over 50 informational videos, explaining how to use Instagram, Facebook, and various different apps in order to profit from social media.
